Projects

"Cairo Crossy Road" Embedded System Video Game

C, ARM Assembly

December 2024

"Cairo Crossy Road" was developed as part of a project using the MSPM0G3507 LaunchPad microcontroller, interfaced with a breadboard circuit. The project combined hardware and software integration, leveraging an LCD display, a slide potentiometer, and multiple buttons for user input. The game is played through the horizontal movement controlled with the potentiometer and vertical movement using the buttons. To create a visually engaging experience, we implemented custom sprites for the main character, vehicles, and road elements. Sounds were generated using DAC interrupts, adding an immersive touch to the gameplay. The system utilized ADC interrupts for reading potentiometer values, ensuring smooth and responsive control. Incorporating both English and Arabic languages to match the game’s Cairo theme showcased our ability to adapt the project to cultural elements. Through this project, we gained hands-on experience in embedded systems programming, interrupt-driven design, and integrating hardware components with software logic. The result was an interactive game that tested both our technical and creative skills.

Traffic Light Controller

C, ARM Assembly

October 2024

Developed a Traffic Light Controller project using an MSPM0G3507 Launchpad, integrating hardware and software to simulate a two-street intersection with a pedestrian walkway. The system featured a Finite State Machine (FSM) to manage traffic light sequences, ensuring smooth and safe transitions between signals. The microcontroller was programmed in C to handle real-time traffic scenarios and pedestrian crossing functionality. The project was built on a breadboard circuit, combining LEDs and other components with precise software logic to create a reliable traffic management simulation, showcasing a practical application of embedded systems.

Nueces Mosque Application

Kotlin, CSS, Firebase

July 2024 - Present

Collaborated with a team of students and alumni to design and develop a mobile application for the Nueces Mosque, aimed at enhancing community engagement and accessibility. The app's frontend was built using Kotlin, incorporating dynamic features to create an intuitive and interactive user experience. CSS was utilized to deliver a consistent and visually appealing interface, ensuring user-friendliness across all elements. Firebase was implemented as the backend solution, enabling secure authentication, real-time data storage, and seamless synchronization, ensuring the app effectively supports the mosque's community and its activities.

UT Austin MSA Website

HTML/CSS, WordPress

May 2024

Selected by the Texas MSA officer team to design and develop the organization’s official website. Leveraging HTML/CSS and WordPress, I created a user-friendly platform that effectively communicates the organization’s mission while showcasing the officer team, upcoming events, useful resources, and a donation page. The website serves as a dynamic hub for community engagement, featuring regular updates to keep users informed and connected. Additionally, I ensured the site’s performance through rigorous troubleshooting and optimization, delivering a seamless user experience that aligns with the organization’s goals of outreach and resource-sharing.

Hotel Reservation System

LC-3 Assembly Architecture

April 2024

I developed a hotel room availability checking program using the Little-Computer 3 (LC-3) assembly language, demonstrating low-level programming and efficient memory management. The project featured an algorithm designed to traverse a linked list data structure within the 16-bit architecture, identifying available rooms while optimizing both memory usage and processing efficiency. To enhance user interaction, I implemented input/output functionality that allowed users to browse and select their desired rooms seamlessly. This project highlights my ability to design and execute complex algorithms in assembly language while maintaining a focus on user experience and system performance.

Buck Converter

Circuit Design, PCB Design, KiCAD, LTSpice

November 2023

I designed and built a highly efficient modular buck converter capable of stepping down voltage levels with over 90% efficiency. The project involved rigorous testing and validation of critical components such as gate drivers and MOSFETs using advanced tools like signal generators and oscilloscopes. Performance was thoroughly evaluated under varying load conditions by measuring essential parameters, including output voltage and inductor current. Through systematic troubleshooting and optimization, I ensured the circuit consistently met design specifications, delivering reliable and stable performance. This project highlights power electronics, circuit design, and hands-on problem-solving.

AI Chatbot

IBM Watsonx, Wordpress

November 2020

Programmed an AI-powered chatbot designed for business websites, leveraging IBM Watson Conversation and WordPress integration. The chatbot was programmed to deliver efficient and interactive customer support, automating responses and improving user engagement. This project showcased chatbot creation and deployment, utilizing advanced AI capabilities to streamline communication for businesses. By implementing Watson's cognitive technologies, I ensured the chatbot could handle diverse queries, making it a valuable tool with enhancing customer experience for business platforms.

Virtual Reality Capstone Game

JavaScript

Febuary 2020

For my capstone project, I developed a 3D virtual reality game inspired by the concept of "Plants vs. Zombies," set in an immersive sci-fi environment featuring evil robots. Using JavaScript, I programmed the game mechanics, where players earn points by shooting robots while avoiding contact to survive. I designed and modeled all the 3D components, including the robots and the dynamic sci-fi background, creating a visually engaging and interactive experience. This project demonstrated my skills in game development, 3D modeling, and VR integration, showcasing a unique blend of creativity and technical expertise to deliver a captivating gaming experience.
